Help Requested: Abandoned and Neglected & Severely Broken Leg

1 Attachment(s)
FLDR got an emergency message from a shelter that a stray, 4 year old, red, smooth, male doxie had a severely broken right rear leg and was going to have it amputated at the shelter today, if a rescue did not step up for him. FLDR immediately said they would take him and had a volunteer pick him up and rush him to the doctor. He has clearly been abandoned, neglected, very underweight, malnourished and is being evaluated for emergency surgery to try to save his leg. He is not neutered and we don’t know if he has heartworms yet, so he has a long road to go to get healthy and we desperately need your help. Yours prayers and anything you can donate for his surgery and medical care is greatly appreciated. Here is his FundRazr site (scroll down toward the bottom of the page): http://fldr.org/feature/abandoned-and-neglected/

Please share, cross-post and help us get the word out about him.

If you don’t want to donate through FundRazr, you can send a check made out to Florida Dachshund Rescue to our treasurer:

Maria Lachney, Treasurer
Florida Dachshund Rescue
34 Sanctuary Avenue
Debary, FL 32713

Thank you in advance for your help.

They Saved His Leg

You can click on the photo to see a larger version of the photo. Please share with your friends. Thanks for all the prayers and assistance. If anyone is interested, so far 40% of the vet bill has been raised. Good news "They Saved His Leg".

Here are a couple of photos of "Falco" since he had his surgery. He also has a broken pelvis. Hoping will not need surgery for that. However, the doctor won't know for sure for a few weeks, after a follow up appointment and more x-rays. So far 56% of his vet bill has been raised. He will eventually some time in the future be available for adoption, if you know anyone looking. Please share his story.

Just sent some money for his care. May he recover quickly and find a loving home to heal his soul. Poor Lad.

:doggie:DONE - Villagers get on the band wagon. There are so many dog lovers in your community there is no reason this goal can't be met.

Update: his surgery funding is at 61%. If anyone is interested in helping out, I will match your donations. Please make a note "The Villages" so I will know it is from you. All donations are tax deductible, as the rescue is a 501(c)3.

jnieman and JSR22,

I just matched your donations.....there goes my haircuts for the rest of the year. LOL Seriously, BIG THANK YOU.

sunglow,

Falco is in a wonderful foster home. But there are a lot of others out there in need that can not be rescued because there are no spots available in the current foster homes. More foster homes are needed. If interested, you can go to: http://fldr.org/foster/ to learn more about fostering. The rescue pays the medical bills and gives you guidance. You provide the day to day needs: shelter, food, water, love, exercise and discipline.

And you said you pledged some money. Did you go to the website and make payment? If you did, it did not show up that I could see.

juneroses 05-30-2015 10:15 AM

What dollar amount still needs to be raised to fund Falco's surgery?

GeoGeo 05-30-2015 11:32 AM

To answer juneroses question....at this moment $940.

Anyone interested can get updated by clicking on the link below and then scrolling down to the box just below where it says "Thank you in advance for your help". It shows the updated amounted. If you click anywhere in that box (the photos or words), it will take you to his page. If anyone is interested in helping him, you have to click on "Contribute". Someone asked me how do people know I really matched the donations. Click on the link in the previous post. It brings up a website. Scroll down to the box that shows photos of the dog, has words, AND has a green progress bar showing the amount donated so far. If you click on that box, it takes you to a website. On that website click on the tab that says "Activity". It will show the donations. I posted that I was matching the contribution of (name of person) and I mention The Villages. I only recently made the matching contribution offer for people of The Villages.
