A New Form of High-Tech Voyeurism

I live on a golf course and have a swimming pool. The other day a drone hovered nearby --- watching us in the pool. I felt very uncomfortable about it, considering a recent break-in in my neighborhood (never reported in the papers). Later, after a few minutes of research, I discovered that this is perfectly legal. A drone can peek in your windows, watch your grandchildren, watch you skinny dip in your own private pool. I imagine that the drone can record everything it's pointed at for someone's viewing pleasure. These things need regulation. Why would anyone want a drone?

to see people skinny dipping in their pool....:loco:

(sorry, had to say it!)

I agree with you...it's invasive and very scary that anyone can have these things.

There is no skinny dipping in daylight hours, but drones do fly at night.

Quick reflexes and a 9 iron should take care of a drone sneaking a peek :)

Paint ball gun is another option.

Watch it and see where it lands and who goes to retrieve it and have a chat with the pilot.

Paint ball gun is an excellent choice. They can clean the lens if they can find their way back. LOL

Drone could have been sent from the NSA.

Nude Swimming Association.

On a serious note, I would understand your concern. It is becoming a popular hobby all over - and yes, no regulations. Of course no regulations other than the White House grounds. And probably the Capital. And probably around politician's homes.

Next time you see the thing, do something wild & crazy - it probably has a camera and you'll end up on uTube.

Send a letter to the White House. Tell them that ....what can we think of to tell them to get their attention? We are a bunch of old people? We are a bunch of naked old swimmers? We are a bunch of ??????

We will think of something.

If the Drone was looking at naked people in their pools in the Villages, trust me, it won't come back ever again !:22yikes:

Amazon

"The online retail giant originally unveiled 'Amazon Prime Air'—a plan to deliver books, Blu-Rays and toilet paper by unmanned aerial vehicle—in December 2013. Since then it has been attempting to get regulatory approval from the US Federal Aviation Authority to start testing and—eventually—deploying the idea in the real world." http://arstechnica.com/business/2015...led-in-patent/

Where do you live? I live on a course too and I ordered some toilet paper from Amazon.

Grandfinch 05-10-2015 12:49 PM

I sigh when I see myself naked.

OK, lets get together and get a hunting season for drones, say 1 or 2 days per week, and set an appropriate bag limit:a040::a040::a040: I will let the rest of ToTV get in the rest of the regulations, enjoy!!

But on a serious note, I do not like the idea of a drone flying around my house.:22yikes:

I own a drone and would never think of using it in a peeping tom manner.I believe that the person that did that has a broken moral compass.I say you have every right to destroy it if it is on YOUR PROPERTY.

Bizdoc 05-10-2015 02:57 PM

Maybe *they* are getting ready to have the Army invade TV.
