Wildwood City Commision

I read where the Wildwood City Commision will read a letter tonight from The Villages withdrawing it's proposal to build 800 homes on the 466A/ Trailwinds property. The reasoning the Commision uses is so transparent it's laughable. Anything commercial built on that site will depend totally on The Villages for it's survival. If the town would vote to have Commisioners by district instead of at large I believe the proposal would sail through. They're all afraid of losing their power.

Losing their power

I can fully understand their concerns about losing their power. They must feel pushed out by the Villages. I do think there is a better solution than to rescind their approval however, Voting by districts is one.
I am sure that the people who live in Wildwood and could not afford a home in the Villages have to feel some ill will towards us. We would probably feel the same way. Hopefully they are not cutting off their noses in spite of their faces.

In their last election, voter districts was one of the ballot issues. The citizens voted it down.
