I took cart along same route to/from Mallory CC within 30 minutes of her call.

Posted IMM notice on TOV under Lost/Found and as of this writing - NOTHING!!!

I have been to the Lost & Found of Mallory/Havana/Colony/Bonifay and every guard shack to/from.

I have seen many times where found objects were put on a bench or by a tree so the owner could find.

The old adage of "What goes around come around" should happen to the person keeping this club.

I think it will turn up. It is only Thursday. BogieShooter will tell you more places to check. Only a fraction of folks read TOTV. We all have putters and don't need someone elses.

More often than not , when other golfers find a club on the course and cant immediately identify the owner, they stick it in their cart or bag, and in many cases forget it. Later they turn it in somewhere. With the enourmous numbers of inexperienced golfers this happens much more frequently. Very few people want to"steal " the club. Check back at the course in a few days. Was your name and address , phone number, and email address on the club? Labels are available through the CCs and Golf Shops

I have all of my and my wife's clubs labeled with our name, address and telephone number. You will see ads for these labels in the back of Golf and Golf Digest magazines. I believe in the Villagers and fully expect that if we lose a club we will be contacted.

Cheap insurance.

Lost and Found
Depending on where items are found, inexpensive items will be held for one month at La Hacienda, Laurel Manor, or Eisenhower Regional Recreation Centers. Valuables will be turned over to the Lady Lake Police Department, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office or Marion County Sheriff’s Office within 72 hours. At the end of each month, unclaimed items will be donated to local charities. The Recreation Department is not responsible for lost items

Aren't those public roads? Could one of the construction vehicles hit it and sent it flying into a yard or a median strip not to be found again until the plants are changed out? I'm sorry your wife a club but not sure it is fair to question the honesty of villagers.

I 'cheap out' and use the free labels the charities so love to send with a piece of clear packing tape over it.

Once again, ONE instance of a single LOST club is utilized to stereotype all villagers as being so cheap and such thieves that they would want a custom-shortened putter.

News flash: Everybody who golfs has a putter or two or three, and we don't have to steal to get somebody's quirky one. And villagers who don't golf are not interested.

Doubt any construction workers hit it on Sunday at 8:30 am!

I have seen three threads where the person who lost a club later recovered it but first came on here and called Villagers unethical. Go to search above and type in "lost club".

Not many need a shortened putter. I have played with the same putter for over twenty years.

billethkid 05-21-2015 04:17 PM

one rascal does not make Villager's disappointing.
Be disappointed in the one rascal Villager.
