Nothing definite, but I'm thinking that someone was sick or injured.

Well by the term emergency helicopter I deduce it was an emergency and since they sent a helicopter one that was immediately assessed as serious/death threatening heart attack, stroke, snake/alligator attack?????

I was coming our of Southern Star Villas at 9:30 and saw a helicopter circling at low altitude over St. Charles Blvd and the Village of St. James. When I reached the corner of St. Charles and Tamarind Grove I saw a couple of emergency vehicles parked on St. Charles. On Southern Star executive a man wearing a reflective vest was waving his arms and he was standing in the middle of the fairway on the Par 4 hole. The copter came in and landed on the golf course and I saw then take a patient on a gurney out onto the golf course. We turned down St. Charles and drove by the parked emergency vehicles. I was looking for wrecked cars or golf carts and didn't see any. That's when I thought maybe someone playing golf had a heart attack, but I don't know anymore.

Here's a view from Google of about where the emergency vehicles were parked;

The helicopter only used the golf course for a landing area. No one playing golf or working on the course had any problems. The person with the problem was moved from a nearby village and needed to air lifted so the emergency team called in the helicopter and used the flat open area on the course. This has happened before, but seldom. there was no wrecked cars or golf carts because that was not the problem.

Friend of mine was talking to EMT's involved, and they said the patient had a stroke. Let's pray that everything turns out ok

One of the best things about The Villages is the planning for medical emergencies that anticipates needs like using nearby golf courses for evacuations.

Another example. TV worked with local 911 so emergency vehicles can locate and reach any position on any TV golf course when needed. Call 911 and stay where you are and they can find you.
