Safety

I think it would help if the Daily Mail, and the other media published the need for the men to keep their knee's in the golf cart and not hang out when driving the cart. It is terrible to see this going on and I heard that at least once a month there is a visit to the ER because of knee damage from passing carts. :ho:

Number one, what is the Daily Mail?
Number two, has anyone ever read where there was a knee injury from this? Where did you hear this?

Villager Joyce 05-30-2015 03:16 PM

THEY said it.

Path striping. That's the solution to this rampant problem, but frankly, I would be more concerned about the welfare of those in oncoming carts if any of these daredevils are "going commando".

You crack me up:bigbow:

I have never heard of knees being sideswiped in a golf cart. You would have to be soooo very close for that to happen. I am sure The Daily SUN would have articles about it and the POA paper would, too.

I agree it does look pretty stupid to see the knees leaning out of the carts. Maybe the guys just need to lose weight and they will fit inside the cart.

I know someone who broke their ankle. There foot was hanging out the side of the golf cart and the driver did not see a tree stump.
[That's not a protruding knee. I went off topic. [again]]

YES - The dreaded "They People!"

And yes the striping is a great idea. If the police see your knee over the line it could be a $250.00 fine !!!!

One day you will learn. You cannot leave TOTV for 15 minutes.

Going back and forth from Orange Blossom and Tierra Del Sol on our cart the last couple of days for a tournament made me realize that not only knees and feet need to be kept in but also the drivers mirror needs to be folded back crossing the bridge over Lake Sumter and the cart crossover bridge on 27/441. I folded ours back an instant before it could get hit on the LS by a cart driver that veered toward the centerline. He had a Curtis Cab with the doors slid back open and it was close; it was the wife's cart also. :ohdear:

Humor

Why do some believe this is a forum for terrible humor rather than serious discussion. There is no harm and in fact it is good if readers express different views but to believe there is humor in mocking or trying to be a bad comedian is kind of sad. I believe you can find a negative person on any corner but the creative/positive person is a little more difficult to find.

And while we are at it, let's make sure our golf cart tires are inflated properly. The tire industry has warned us many times that under inflated tires can result in a catastrophic tire failure which could cause immediate loss of vehicle control and death. And don't forget that sun screen. Even reflected sunlight can cause serious skin damage.

I respect all of you who are sincerely trying to watch out for us. Have you met twoplane kid yet?

The Morse Bridge cart path becomes less narrow as you get used to it......AND adjust your speed DOWN. No need to fold your mirrors back.
