Help selecting a Vet

My Lilly and I must select a vet. Our home is in the Village of Poinciana but travel within reason would not be a reason not to select a vet. Since Lilly is my first pet and she is eight years old, what should I be asking as the most important questions including pricing. I believed Lilly is in very good health so what questions do I ask a vet. Do look for a vet that has a lot of experience with Pekinese since that is my Lilly's breed?

I look forward to responses.

Since she is eight, you could start price comparison by asking how much teeth cleaning (usually done under sedation) costs. Also yearly vaccinations. Everyone here seems to be quite happy with their vet choices. Do you know how to do a search on TOTV? There have been many threads about people's favorite vets.

I'll give you mine... Dr. Candice Manganaro of Park Heights Animal Hospital on 441 in Fruitland Park. But I'm not sure how they rate from an expense standpoint.

I've been to several vets that I was happy with here. Only place I was dissatisfied was Buffalo Ridge Animal hospital. They were more concerned with upselling than finding out why my dog was itching so bad. Ends up they sold me $60 worth of shampoo and conditioner because they can't detect fleas.

I'm sort of with CFrance and Avista, except I prefer Dr. Valdez at Park Heights.

Dr. Valdez is our Cockatiel's vet. He has taken care of our dog once too.

We have used the vet in Wildwood, opposite end from ACE hardware for our cat, very pleased. Now if I could just remember the name, sorry.

villagetinker, could this be the one? I think it's in the Ace shopping center.
