New small disposable CPAP in development

Introducing the world's first hoseless, cordless, maskless, battery-powered CPAP device.

For those of you who need a CPAP machine and don't like it, this new small, disposable CPAP machine looks amazingly small. Look at this link to see this new one.

Let me understand, you could have a condition that could kill you and you put off finding out because of the equipment? Did I get that right?

If you read the article you will see that it is a problem for many people getting the machines and not using them. Plus this isn't about me. I posted it for those who may need it.

Well, it LOOKED pretty cool..... would be good for those who travel regularly.....
I wanted to know the cost (not posted at this point) how long the batteries last. (8 hours at this point)

The link does not say these Cpap appliances will be ready for purchase mid-June, but that their website will, in Mid June start accepting DONATIONS to be used toward expenses.
Mid June begins their FUND RAISING.

Whoa.

I did and in your original post you did mention that it was an issue for you......that's what prompted my comment. I lost a friend to the condition and my wife suffers from it as well, she hates the machine, the hoses etc but she also hates the alternative.

I shouldn't have mentioned my own situation so I deleted it. I think this post should be about the product which is still in development. I'm sorry about your friend.

This would not work for someone who is a "mouth breather" and needs a full mask and not just a nose mask.

Having an engineering background, this does not appear to be practical, in MHO. There does not appear to be sufficient room for batteries, blowers, and the motors to drive the blowers. Also, a CPAP has valves to provide air under pressure, and then to allow the breath to be exhaled. I have had two wives that both use (or used) CPAP machines, and if this size is really practical would be great for traveling. The point about a mouth breather is well taken, as this design is based on the assumption that the persons mouth will remain closed. Also, from first hand observation I think this will still need a band around the head to hold it in place.
It will be very interesting to see if this can be built, and approved by FDA or which ever agency approves these devices.
