Children and Golf

My grandson 8 years old. Will be spending a month with us this summer. Here is really interested in golf and we have just purchased him a nice set of clubs. I have been looking for information on bringing kids to golf on executive courses. Is it allowed? Any suggestions on where and when too go out. Or how to pair up with people we won't delay too much.
I have tried to research this on the net but am coming up empty.

I enrolled my grandkids in the Tri- county Jr golf camp which will be held at both Palmer and Lopez. There are several different weeks being offered. It is from I believe 8:00 - 3:30 (lunch served at cc) and it is only $40 for 3 days. You can go to tcjg.org for more info.

Children must be ten to be on the golf courses unless they are accomplished enough to pass the test by one of the golf pros.

Thank you vj1213 I have enrolled him in the golf camp. I am hoping to be able to go out with him as well.never too young to start. Looks like we may have to go off campus. I wonder if any local courses would allow us to play nine in an off time

I took my grandkids up to Baseline Golf Course in Belleview. Not too busy during the summer and very welcoming for children. They even have clubs for children to use. Take your camera...the place is beautiful.

Call one of the country clubs and schedule a time to have him rated by the head pro. If he passes, he'll get a certificate that allows him to play golf at least on the executives, I am not sure about the country clubs. My son-in-law takes our grandson to Miona Golf Club when they visit in the summer. Low rates for dad, free for the son.

Speaking of golf with children, a pal of mine is having his grandson down. He's around 8 too. I taught my boys with a cut down 5 wood made of wood, not metal. It was too heavy I so took the sole plate off and drilled it out some to lighten up. Kids grow so fast it's only good for 1 year.

Soooooooo, does anyone have an old 5 wood laying around I could have to fix up for my pal's grandson? After he gets down, I'll size him up and re grip it.
