Where are the Sandhill Cranes?

A couple of weeks ago my sister saw a huge alligator a few feet off the golf cart path that goes over the Sumter Lake bridge, the side near the tunnel that goes under Morse. Got that? Anyway, since that time I haven't seen the two Sandhill Cranes and their 2 babies and I'm worried since that was their territory. I would frequently see them as I drove the golf cart path behind Hospice. Has anyone seen them?

Oh No. We always watched for them too.. in that area. Oh dear.

I've noticed there are not as many around. Maybe they went somewhere more north.

We have two separate populations. One migratory and one stays here year round. The year round ones seem to be in the minority but we see them each time we are out.

We saw them late yesterday afternoon or early evening! I was wishing I had my camera ~ the four of them were so cute!

Cranes

We have had them on and off for years. They disappear for periods of time, then come back, often with a young one. They have their own agenda.

Guinea fowl tastes better than chicken. I just had guinea fowl for dinner. At least, that's what they said it was.

I saw "our" family this morning (Evans Prairie), 2 adults and 2 very large chicks - are there several families or just one that really gets around?
