sears kenmore grill THE PITS

Would never recommend Spent $500 2years ago.thing is now rusted out and the grease falls through onto the propane tank. I EVEN BOUGHT THE 3 year WARRANTY!! Called them. They send out repairman. Claim denied as they only cover rust for 90 days. Never will walk into a SEARS store again. BUY A WEBER

Yes, the good old days when Craftsman tools were high quality tools appears to be long gone. Even sockets, screw drivers, etc., are made in China. We are looking for a grill, must be all stainless steel, looking at Sam's Club.

you want a great grill , get a weber.

Webers are still made in the US. Trying to talk my husband into springing for one, as the all s/s grill we bought in HD (Charm-something?) spazzed out in a couple of years and never did get hot enough to sear meat.

Will look at weber also. Thanks for the info.

We bought ours at Ace hardware because they deliver right to your house and it is already assembled... nice for busy me!!

I buy gas grills at Lowes or Home Depot when they are on sale. I think $150 for a 3 burner, 35 to 40K BTU grill is plenty of money to spend for a grill. I usually get 4 or so years out of them. But my grilling needs are simple. The grills I buy probably won't work for those who grill often.

This is a prime example of, you get what you pay for. We bought our last Weber in 1993. Our daughter and son inlaw are still using it. They are pricy, but does it cook well.

Is it propane, or charcoal?

village dreamer 06-11-2015 01:39 PM

a weber 3 burner propane grill will set you back $500. plus $50 more for a filled tank.

I would still like to know what the 1993 Weber grill is, propane or charcoal. We had a couple of charcoal grills (not Weber) last many years, but not our $200 propane grills.

I have owned at least six gas grills, none of them held up for more than a year and all were unsatisfactory, including two Webers

Absolutely agree with you! Talked my husband into goin for a cheaper grill when we moved here 2 1/2 years ago. Just gave it away and bought a weber 😢

Find out why they didn't cover rust. Rust is only warranted a short time on the regular warranty but it should be included in the extended warranty! Keep calling. The service person we talked to on the phone tried telling me some of our parts weren't covered but when I pushed it they were. We got a $399 credit towards any grill. I would never buy one without the warranty.

The key cleaning the grill and storage out of the weather. Especially under the burners. I use to pressure wash mind at least two time year. Only thing didn't last was the flame covers and maybe the igniter. But most you can buy parts for. Most parts are universal.
