Unique cycling experience

A couple of days ago, I was riding my bike on the MMP (far right as possible, as always). I was moving about 17-19 mph, when a golf cart driver behind me honked his horn a couple of times and yelled for me to slow down. I was going slightly down hill approaching an intersection where the path routes into a village behind the gate. So I just kept going, checked for traffic, and when I got through the intersection, I start to accelerate. Now, the golf cart behind me is much farther back because they don't seem to be able to go through the turns as quickly as a bike. Eventually the cart catches up with me, and in a slight uphill stretch, passes me, and yells thank you. I thought it was a little ironic that someone would honk at me and ask me to slow down so that they could pass me. That was a first.

Just to clarify, when the MMP intersects with the roadway going into a village behind the gate, isn't there a STOP sign for the MMP? You stopped your bike and not just went through after checking for traffic, of course, since bicyclers do obey the rules of the road just like cars or carts.

Oops!

HE double hockey sticks NO! But I do slow down, drop into low gear, so I'm kinda rolling through at maybe 3-5 mph?? But there are some paths with bushes etc, that I don't feel comfortable going through without unhooking and stopping to give both directions a good look. The golf cart drivers don't like it if I stop at each stop sign on the MMP. It slows them down.

I haven't said this for awhile.

I guess everyone is at fault for everything. Does that sound good. It is probably true if you stop and think about it.

Instead of posting something like this in this forum just put a sign on your back that says kick me. We seem to have a lot of angry people in our friendlist home town and bike riders are a popular whipping boy. Hope you said your welcome.

i've definitely been yelled at by golf cart drivers for stopping at stop signs . Can't win

I stop and really don't care what others think. LOL Too old to fight to old to run. Never going to take a butt kicking at my age. So don't frustrate your self by waving screaming etc. IDC.
