New Dog Park
 

Was playing golf tonight @Belle Glade and noticed the new dog park is well under construction. They've started putting up the fences and it looks to be quite large . Wouldn't be surprised to see it ready some time late July!

I need to get on my soap box. Atlas Dog Park was not brought on because of villagers surveys and requests. The new Atlas Dog Park was brought on by Diane Fergusons, dream, determination and drive. We volunteers supported Diane. Before the dog park idea was conceived we had to get 3,000 signatures. This was our time spent at the mail box areas. Diane formed the RDOG3 (Responsible Dog Owners Group 3) that meets the first Wednesday of each month @ Eisenhower Regional Recreational Center. Check the Recreational News in the paper. Praises to the people who brought in educational speakers, trainers vets etc. Thanks to our members, 50/50 raffles and bake sales helped with some of the expenses. Benches had to be sold. Meetings with John Rohan were necessary and beneficial. Atlas Dog Park is not a gift. This dog park is worth all of the time spent making it happen. When you ride past this beautiful dog park take time to say thank you to those involved from the beginning. Another beautiful place in The Villages, yes and there will be rules to follow to keep it beautiful.
