Has anyone noticed a substantial increase in irrigation water usage. Our usage went up by 6000 gallons according to their reading.

I thought I saw a recent post about the fact that the water company made a mistake and they were resending out statements. Overcharged for water. It was within the past couple of weeks. Might want to try to search the forum to find it.

not sure where your home is, but if this is your first summer here, you will find that the automatic seasonal adjustment in your sprinkler controller will have the irrigation running for the maximum time this time of year, as opposed to 40 or 50 percent a couple of months ago. My system on a cottage sized lot uses 1,500 gallons for a 20 minute run.

Also have you checked your settings on the irrigation system. We've had several storms and a few power dips ? Is your system set to sensor detecting or are you on a day & time ? The error on the bills was on the previous months cycle not the current and they have been corrected. A few years back my lawn sensor went bad and I was watering quite a lot more. Had to change the settings & bypass the sensor. Happened after a bad thunder storm.
If you feel there's a meter problem you can call and they will send someone out to check your meter. Chances are they're going to tell you to check your settings first. JMO

very interesting.... our Villa in Mission Hills went from 13000 gals in April to 29000 in May.
My irrigation system controller is a Hunter Pro-C. Is there any way to add a surge protector to the power supply?
