arthritis in hands

what are you doing for it to ease the pain and stiffness

I've been researching the use of turmeric. You can buy capsules, or make a "Golden Milk" drink. My hands haven't been so bad lately, which is why I've not tried this yet, but the next time they do, this is what I'm starting.

Sound too simple but my number 1 thing is to keep them warm. I sleep with them under the covers and wear gloves if it cold out. I also take two regular aspirins daily but I would not try it until talking to your doctor.

My mother had minor arthritis in her fingers. She would take white vinegar, heat it on the stove until it was hot (not uncomfortably hot, though) and soak her hand in the hot vinegar for about 30 minutes. She claimed it worked great for temporary relief.

It might have just been that soaking the hand in any hot liquid would have done the same - but Mom knew a whole lot of things!

Try it. It really might work.

I have been using Voltaren Gel. By prescription; pricey. (My co-pay was $47.) Two of my friends swear by it for their fingers. I use it on my lower back and knee. It says to use it four times a day, but I use it morning and night.

If you ever visit Mexico, cruise ship vacation or whatever, you can find Lagelty Diclofenaco Gel available without prescription at most pharmacies for about $10 US. Same stuff.
Not advocating anything that may or may-not be illegal, just pointing out price differences.

Good to know. Thanks.

I have tried the Voltaren Gel and - nothing, no help what so ever. I guess my physiology (or whatever) isn't receptive to the stuff.

Maybe mine is a case of mind over matter. Expensive, so has to work, right? If I go to Mexico and get the $10 variety, it probably won't work!!:(
