Max

I can highly recommend this movie. As the write up in the Daily Sun said, this not a movie about a cute little lap dog, but a dog brought home from the war. The whole audience applauded when it was over.

You know when the audience claps, it was good.

I also saw the movie Max and enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend it.

I did post about MAX under best July 4th movie but topic got sidetracked. It was great. Loved it!

My wife and I typically rate a movie on a scale of 1-10 when we leave the theater. I gave Max a 9 and she gave it a 10. Meanwhile, the movie review website, Rotten Tomatoes, has shown me that these so-called movie critics think they are too sophisticated for the average movie goer. They will highly rate films that I think are terrible (i.e. Birdman 92%), while a fun, heartwarming film like Max was only given 39%. If they give a movie a low review rating, I know more often than not, it's a movie I'll want to see, while the reverse is also usually true.

I posted about this movie awhile ago! It was wonderful !

We have our granddaughters coming next week - ages 7, 9, and 11. Would Max be appropriate for them?

My otherhalf took our granddaughter to see Max this past week. They both loved it. I am very emotional when it comes to animals and he said it would have been a "box of kleenex movie" for me. So I think it depends on how much your girls love animals.

Thanks. I think we'll add that to our list of things to do and will be sure to take the kleenex.

To take a box of Kleenex is an excellent recommendation. I'm worse than my wife in movies and I could have used a box myself. Max is a very moving and relationship oriented movie. My daughter and 3 granddaughters (ages 11-16) will be town for the next week and I intend to take them. In my view it is "must see" movie.

Funny Ted, I never used to be like this until I had bypass surgery 12 years ago. Ever since, for some unknown reason I now am.

I find relationship conflict frustrating and depressing while relationship resolution as moving and inspirational. While I've never had a heart problem (knock on wood), as the years started to add up I have found myself much more "touched" by both the good and the bad.

It's rated PG, but there is some violence, so not sure if 7 and 9 year olds are okay. I would think so, but their parents could probably advise on that. I'm sure the 11 year would be fine. As others have indicated, it can get a little emotional even for the adults.

Don't know how this movie ends but if there is a death I really don't want to watch it. I do love dogs however. I saw the movie "My dog Skip" and only saw it once because of the sad ending. If someone wants to pm me with the end of this movie that would be fine.

John
