refrigerator delivery?

New refrigerator being delivered now and guys took my front door to try to get it in. Is this normal?? Has me a bit nervous?

They had to remove front door to get it in hope I don't go through this again. Had to hire Carpenter to raise cabinet, now problems getting it through front door. Yeeks

Sounds like a topic for Facebook.

The same thing happened with a Samsung French door fridge we purchased in Charlotte. The handles kept the door from making it in the front door. The handles could not be removed so the door was taken. Quite the experience.

Sometimes you can take the fridge door off easier than the door to the house.

Going by the front door opening would severely reduce the choices of refrigerator size & model. But, of course, measuring the kitchen opening makes sense. If the frig just fits through when the front door pins are pulled, then hooray. Our front door opening was further reduced by a storm/screen door & its frame. We just had Lowes deliver a french door frig. The two delivery men expertly removed all three frig doors, got it through the opening and reassembled the doors. BTW, we love the new 30 cu ft LG french door frig. Also, we tipped the men appropriately.

We once had to cut off the legs to our couch to get it through the front door. Then my husband had to drill holes and put a screw through to screw them on.

Thank your husband profusely. I am not handy at all. I probably would have cut the couch into thirds first.

That was back when he was much more easy-going. These days I think he would have done what you said!

Every time we've moved in the last 17 years (5 times), the front door has been removed moving in and moving out; makes getting everything in/out easier. Pop 3 pins out and :boom:, it's off.

Well all is well now. They got fridge in removing our front door. We measured and re-measured for openings for fridge but forgot about front door. Hope refrigerators don't get any larger in future

It's SOP for getting refrigerators in or out!!
