If you're going to Trader Joe's

Some of the special things to look for at Trader Joe's:
1. Nuts and seeds, including salty snacks.
2. Cheeses, butter and yogurt
3. Sweet treats. About 1/4 of the store is devoted to sweets. Cookies, frozen desserts. The finest baking chocolate. Sweet snacks
4. Olive oil. Many varieties, not just Italian. And at bargain prices.
5. Spices. Many that you won't find elsewhere.

And don't forget three-buck Chuck!

Better yet good wine for prices lower than most wine shops. And kosher food

If there is a specialty item like a spice or sauce or dry box item that you can't get anywhere else, there is always Amazon.com. They carry lots of Trader Joes's items. Quite a few of them are on Prime shipping also.

I love the frozen roasted corn kernels at TJ's. I also like their pre-cooked/frozen packets of rice, both white and brown. And their frozen ham & gruyere "pizza" on puff pastry (Tarte d'Alsace). Their frozen food section is amazing. frozen - Trader Joe's | Trader Joe's This doesn't eve show all of it.

And they have the same brand chocolate-filled frozen croissants that Williams-Sonoma wants $40 plus shipping for. Their cinnamon-sugar graham crackers are heavenly. Their tomato-red pepper soup in a box is the best boxed tomato-based soup I've ever had. At Christmas they have minted coffee I like to stock up on.

I could go on and on, but haven't been in a TJ's since we left Pittsburgh, so I've forgotten much of the great things we would purchase there. I need a freezer truck to go make a run.

It's the only store in a 60 mile radius that sells inexpensive Organic meat.

Closest would be Gainesville, about one hour. I haven't checked out the new one in Orlando, don't know the distance but I imagine it's about the same.

Trader Joe's items sold on Amazon cost at least twice as much as in the store.

If you go to winter park you get amazing shopping and great resturants

If you go to Gainesville, you get a very nice natural museum.

Also, really like their produce. They have really yummy Persian cucumbers. And their selection of ethnic frozen foods, such as potstickers, is excellent.

Give Walmart's Oak Leaf Merlot a try. Three liter box for $11.
