Tiny flies in our pool

We have tiny black flies with clear wings in our pool. I spoke to T&D and they have numerous customers with the same problem and they do not have a solution to eliminate the flies. I skim them out with the net, but they keep returning. Any one else having the same problem and what are you doing? MY suspicion is they are coming from the palm trees.

I had that problem about a month ago. Lasted about two weeks.

Nah...we used to get them in SW also. all you can do is skim them. eventually they will stop.

Just saw them yesterday for the first time. We don't have palm trees. Don't like them. Yucky.

often happens after heavy rains when rain has been scarce

We have the same problem. When it rains they are worse. I think they get stuck in the screens and when it rains they get pushed through. The problem is the pool net doesn't catch them well. The bugs seem to go right through the net. You can buy tighter webbed nets on line that will not let the bugs through. It's really a losing battle. Just get use to skimming every time you swim! (But it's worth it!)
