Looking for interior paint color advice.

I was talking to a woman at the nail salon who told me she had a woman come to her home with a color wheel to help her pick paint colors. I thought she said her name was Katie Green. I have searched TOTV and cannot find any info on her. Does. Anybody know of this woman? I was told she charges $75.00 for the consult.

Tom Campbell Painting has a color consultant (his wife Carol).

Scooter Paint also has the owner come out and help with paint colors at no charge if you use them. We did and she did a great job on colors for our villa.

I found picking paint colors to be really hard. We called a consultant the first time and she didn't seem to give me much advice. The colors we finally picked were horrendous. 6 months later we had to paint again because we hated the paint so much. The second colors were no better. Finally we saw a friend's house and we both said we want those colors. Lucky the friend didn't mind and gave us the color names. We repainted a third time with a color on the bottom, a chair rail in the middle and white on top. It looks fabulous. It took three tries. I would highly recommend bringing home samples and painting them on the walls to see just how the color looks in the lighting of your house. Very important. Plus it's much easier to buy the furniture and pillows first then paint.

I think that was mE. I used Katie for a decorating consult with paint colors. My colors look beautiful. If you just want paint color help it may be less than $75. I can't find her phone number but I wrote her an e-mail. A friend had used her and gave me her name. Then I did a search on TOTV for decorators and her name came up. When I hear from her I will post. We were very happy with her suggestions and places to look for things and where to place the things we already have. We used Elite Artisans for our painting of the whole house and they did an amazing job and I'm pretty fussy. Their number is 352-615-3558. Jo Ann.

Several paint manufacturers have online tools designed to match colors. With their virtual rooms you can make walls several different colors and then accent them with different trim colors. Sherwin - Williams and Behr from Home Depot are two that come to mind but I am sure there are more.

Also, before Katie I had gone to Dherwin Williams a few times, bought the sample size of different colors and painted on poster board. I then could tape the board in different spots in the house to check the color in different light. The painter told me not to paint sample on wall as when you finally paint you will have a darker area.

Played it safe.

I let my wife pick the colors she liked and I avoided any and all future conflict.:22yikes:

Smart guy. But I wouldn't say "I let her"---you probably didn't mean that! My wife is just better at decorating than me---for sure.

I can tell you that she uses very neutral colors for our homes.

The other thing I didn't mention was I went thru 5 colors and I just didn't love any of them. Katie came in with her color wheel and went right to 2 perfect colors, one being an accent wall that I didn't think about and it turned out to be beautiful. My husband is glad "color-gate" is over!

Sent you a PM with her number. I think she may still be on vacation for a few days.
