Tile vs Hardwood floors in bedroom/ office
Looking for pros and cons of both. Who to use for installation? We have tile in main room. Very low maintenance. We really want the wood. Both rooms are fairly high traffic and we are skeptical of maintenance.

They have tile that looks like hardwood floors now. I wish they had that tile when we built our home in 2012!

We put wood in the living/dining room area in 2 houses and love it ! Will be putting it in the master bedroom soon. Warmer in the colder, winter months, very easy to maintain and no worries about cracking or dropping something on it. And we don't have to be concerned with cleaning the grout. Used Village Flooring (352-315-8855). Family owned company, and they are big on customer service. Very pleased with pricing and the overall job.

We are considering the same. Played golf with a couple who installed tile throughout their home. Both developed heel problems from walking on the hard surface w/o shoes and it kept them from golfing for about a month. Don't know if wood would have been the same. If there is someone who occasionally falls in the home it may be a consideration.

One home we had was with a pool and anyone leaving the pool area and going into the house to use the bathroom had to walk over tile floor which when your feet are wet was like ice. Just my opinion and I realize many would rather have the look over the function. |
