Winters in TV
 

What's it really like in TV during the height of the winter season??

If I decide to visit TV on a Lifestyle Preview during the winter, with very short notice ...... how difficult do you think it would be to get accepted, or if need be -- to find a rental house in TV for a couple of weeks, or even a local hotel in or near TV (just in case) ?? I am a planner, but sometimes I make last-minute decisions ::)

Anyway, what's it really like in TV when it's full ???

Winters in TV is when everything is humming. More traffic on the roads, more restaurants filled creating a wait for a table at times. All activities are in full swing, as well as the classes all around and at the Learning Center. Parking spaces are less accessible. Grocery stores have waiting lines, as well as other stores too. Probably the only activity that lessens are the pools, although heated, when the air cools, the only peeps swimming are the transients from the freezing winters. LOL

Most everyone comes out of their a/c homes and you will find them walking and into outside activities, i.e., bocce, pickle ball, tennis, shuffleboard, etc when the weather cools. Not many are involved in outside activities during the hot, humid summers.

No matter what the season, TV is always full of activities and fun things to do.

I think you would have a hard time finding a rental judging by the email I get looking for one. We come for the month of March but I could have rented our place many times over. I'm not sure about the hotels though. There are a several that are within walking distance of one of the squares, and you might try them if a last minute trip presents itself. And if it does, you should come!

I'd wager that a Lifestyle Preview on short notice is hard to get.
They also have you pay in full when the reservations are made.

That said, can't hurt to try, but you may not get it.

A local hotel is not a bad alternative, though.
We did it both ways (hotel first) and learned a lot.

I think finding a rental house for a few weeks in the middle of winter will be impossible.
I have already had people offer more than the going rate to let them have our rental for a month in the winter. The hotels will be your best bet..but you may get lucky with TV.

I have been researching the rental market in advance of buying a home in the villages for both rental and personal use. You may get lucky if you are willing to rent a 1 bedroom place. Right now that's all I find left for the coming winter season. But if that meets your needs..... The living area appears to be about the same as a 2 bd patio villa and some have murphy beds or sleeper sofas in the great room. Hope that helps. ;)

You might get lucky. Often times there are cancellations that you see in The villages Daily Sun, even in the high season. I'm guessing it would be tough to get a rental for a couple of weeks, though, you 'd have to rent for the month if you were llucky enough to get a cancellation. Generally, a patio villa would be the cheapest route to go. A motel/hotel rental might be a different story as far as price and availability.
