certainly happened, but so did five dead in Tennessee...so your point is that while accidents happen when someone owns a weapon no one should own one? I guess we should remove all cars from the road with that thinking as more people get killed, maimed in auto accidents than firearms accidents...or perhaps no more dogs as some of them harm people...or maybe electricity because many people poke forks into outlets...or allow people to swim because some drown....or fireworks, turkey fryers, bicycles.....

The idiot "guard" was clearing his gun in order to let a man look at his rifle? What kind of guard lets a person have their weapon? The bullet fired into the sidewalk and easily could have ricocheted and killed a child.

Get these drugstore cowboys off the streets.

As some on here would quckly use the following statement: Get used to it. It is the order of the day.

Maybe, just maybe a small indicator that some of the silent majority are starting to stand and be counted.

And while you are in the business of hypothesisizing all the negathings that could have happened....how about switching your hat around and gin up some positive coulda happeneds.

The police were called and the civilian with the gun was escorted off the private property at the request of the strip mall owner.

The "guard" was charged with discharging a firearm illegally.

Let the professionals handle security - not the drugstore cowboys.

Why wasn't the "guard" working on a real job instead of playing cowboy. Obviously, just one of the video game jockies who like to play the shooting video games and not have a job.

He/she seems to be able to KNOW the backstory on every case....was he collecting social secirity ? Why was he inot at work ? Why did he make that career choice, and then he would have a pension.

Such sage from someone who appears to know all and certainly feels obligated to judge everyone.

With no more information that provided it could be discovered that the so-call "drugstore cowboy" is a retired military, or law enforcement, or Special Services with many years and hours handling a handgun. Hardly an inexperienced civilian choosing to complain but do nothing to help.

Google the story and you will find the person is 28 year old Christopher A. Reed of Lancaster, Ohio. He stated in a phone interview that he never was in the military. He was convicted of this same type of offense in 2013. It is a 4th degree misdemeanor. He says he is a gun enthusiast. Probably a very decent guy but not retired military, law enforcement, or Special Service. I would compliment him for wanting to help but to leave it to professionals.
