Looking for a honest dentist

Can anyone share some information about a good dentist? One who is fair, honest and doesn't say work is needed if it isn't. Not necessarily in The Villages.

Dr. Jerkins in Fruitland Park. No upsell. Pleasant staff. Quality work. Does only what is truly needed for your oral health.

I have sent several people to his office and all have been very pleased with the quality of the work performed.

Dentist recommendation

I have been with Dr Agatha Cayia for 9 years. She is at Baylee Dental in Baylee Plaza.
I cannot sing her praises high enough.

She is everything you asked for in a dentist.

I needed a lot of work when I first moved here. One dentist quoted me $23,000 for the work.

Dr Cayia was recommended to me and she charged me $6,000 for the same work. Her work is excellent.

She will recommend work you should have done, but does not push, It is entirely up to you.

Also her entire staff has been with her since I started there. That has to say a lot about her. It is also a fun office.

I very much like Dr. Jerkins. And he is a straight shooter. He could have let me spend a lot of money but felt the lesser procedure would be more appropriate.

Ditto on Baylee Here is their website

My wife went to a very popular dentist on CR101 near the Streetrods store. Beautiful office and a lot of patients, my wife said when they x-rayed her mouth, it was the fanciest place she had ever seen. They diagnosed she needed $15,000 in dental work. She went to Baylee dental for a second opinion, and turned out she needed just one new crown. What's nice is they make a custom temp crown on the spot, that looks as good as the real crown. She's now been going there for four years.

Why are so many dentists here thieves ?Are they not watched by a state consumer agency ?

I went to that same dentists' office on CR 101 because they were highly recommended by posters here. I had a crack in an existing filling.
It was a nice office and the people I talked to were very pleasant. The dentist I saw told me I needed a crown.
I decided to wait until I got back to my "regular" dentist up north. He said that I needed a filling.
I told him "The Florida dentist told me I needed to have a crown".
He said "I'll do a crown if you want, but it will cost more, and all you need is a filling".
Perhaps the dentist on CR 101 merely had a different opinion. I truly don't think most dentists are thieves.

Dr. David Barnett, Buena Vista Dental on 466. I am the biggest baby when it comes to a dentist. 16 years ago I found Dr. Barnett. He is a great dentist and very honest.

I have been to a few dentists in the area. The ones on my insurance plan are only good for a free cleaning. This is a minimal cleaning job Then anything else is at the usual and customary cost. It's a way of getting potential customers in the door. So now I don't even bother with the dental plan provided by Freedom Health. Too many hurdles and too few dentists.

I have had good success with Bryant Dental on Rollin Acres Rd. near Home depot. Small office with very personal care, prices seem to be about average.
