Sorry couldn't help myself! Try mapquest.com I wouldn't give you directions, I use tomtom everywhere I go. Never fails.

Re: Orlando Airport

If you are on the west side of the villages, take 301 south thru wildwood and on the south side of wildwood take the fla. turnpike south.

If you are closer to 441/27, take it south thru leesburg and pick up the turnpike on the other side of leesburg.

Once on the fla turnpike get off at exit 254 ( route 528) east.

That will take you right to the airport exit.

We are close to 441/27 and took this route the last trip to the Orlando airport and went through Leesburg on a Sunday morning; I found it stop and go and lots of lights and was wondering if it would be faster to backtrack to 301 and pick up the turnpike south of Wildwood...more miles, but less time..any opinions?

Driving from Orlando International Airport...
Exit the airport, follow signs to the Beachline Expressway/SR 528.
Take the Beachline/SR 528 west, through two toll booths, to the Florida Turnpike (Exit 4).
Take the Florida Turnpike north to Wildwood Exit 304 for US 301
Continue north on US 301 to CR 466 (NOTE: you will pass CR 466A about 3 miles prior to CR 466)

Re: Orlando Airport

Indy Guy gave very good directions but WATCH OUT on that Exit 4.
As you exit it looks like you're getting off the toll way all-together. Just keep bearing to the right and you'll be on a great figure 8 ramp through another toll and onto the FL tollway to Ocala.

Re: Orlando Airport

Also from Wildwood you can use The Villages back door. With the following directions.

From the Wildwood exit of The Flordia Turnpike. Go North on US 301 to first stop light State Road 44. From State Road 44 continue North 2.1 miles to the 2nd stop light at CR 466A.

Turn right onto CR 466A and go 2.5 miles to 1st stop light Buena Vista Blvd.

Turn left onto Buena Vista Blvd. Stay on Buena Vista Blvd

I've taken both ways many times and like using 301 best even tho we are near 441/27.

Have lived in TV for six years mostly as snowbirds, flying back and forth seasonally. Have NEVER taken a direct route from Orlando a/p to TV. Always got lost, unless we hired TV shuttle or other carriers.

The past two times, we've chosen to drive (three day trip MA-TV). Prefer to avoid airlines lately and just enjoy the ride with no waiting lines and pressures.

Sounds like you need to get a GPS.
