Comcast in TV positive feedback for a change!!!!

We have been away for 3 months and had our cable and interenet placed on vacation hold/pause.

I called Comcast 8/16 to resume services. When we were done Andy the customer service rep said all was taken care of with a good "visible" signal for both cable and internet as we were speaking. I thanked him and gave my usual very polite.....if it is working when we get there it will be the first time in 12 years!!!

Well it was. Internet and all three cable locations performing like the day we left.

And another positive? Andy was a real Andy from here in the good old USA.....this comment is nothing more than a positive statement.....nothing more!

Over the past years I can honestly say Comcast has been annoying at times and their rates keep rising (like everybody else)....but overall they do a very good job. I should not even type this because I will jinx it....we have never had an outage since we have been here. Their internet performance is among the best if not the best. And cable programming and quality ....no complaints.

I know. I even hesitated when I started to type. Short story. A couple of years ago when we were here 8 or 9 years...at a party subject of power outages in TV came up. I said we have been here for 8 years and never had one outage.....when we got home the power was out!!!!! (for about an hour).

Just wondering how much the vacation hold cost? We have Century Link and were quoted a price of $15 for vacation hold. The charge ended up being $42 a month. They claimed the additional charge was to reserve "the line" so when we returned we would have service. I am so sick of all the BS with Century Link that I could scream (and believe me I have screamed in the past).

We put ours on vacation hold. Runs about $18 a month. I own our modem but I am being charged $6 for it. After a phone call each month asking why, only answer so far is "because you are on seasonal."
