reservations

[/is there anyone out there other than myself that is frustrated with the fact that restaurants and club house restaurants do not take reservations? especially when the snow birds return and the population here doubles, and if you are watching all the new construction, that just means that many more people vying for a place at the table,

lets push for these places to take reservations, time to look at the policies in place

First come, first served is the best rule. Not anything much worse than waiting for your turn while others stroll in and are seated ahead of many waiting in the waiting areas.

As I recall, there was another thread on this subject, and it appears there were way too many NO SHOWS for the reservations, so the restaurants stopped the practice. I can't blame them.

Some high end restaurants take your credit card information when taking a reservation. If you are a no-show, they charge your card for $25 per person that you said were in your party.

That might be a good idea here.

Not only no shows, but people reserve sometimes for more than they need in case they get others to join them. Restaurant reserves a table for 10 and 6 show up.
Been here over 15 years and most places have never taken reservations. It's worked just fine for me.
Snowbirds come, we just eat a little early

Miles42 08-26-2015 03:24 PM

We adjust our meal times and have no problem.

Welcome to the forum.
They don't take reservations because they do just fine without needing to do so.

wudda1955 08-26-2015 06:45 PM

Nope. Not frustrated at all. I like it just the way it is. If I have to eat at a certain place, I either prepare to wait or adjust my schedule.

Hign end restaurants.

Many take call ahead seating. Maybe not when the snow birds return.

No, new person, I don't give a care they don't take reservations, There is little waiting during this time of year and during the high season reservations are not an option for obvious reasons. Welcome to the forum.

Next.

I always wanted to say that, Patty55.:)

You will be less frustrated if you are flexible!
We find no problem in high season if we eat a little earlier or later than the crowds at 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

It's a Florida thing.
