One Blood Phlebotomist has high praise for the Villages High School students.
I gave platelets on Tuesday and was there at the One Blood the Villages branch for a good three hours. One of the phlebotomists praised the Villages High School students as being the best behaved of any group of high school students she has experienced on the various One Blood buses which go to any number of high schools in Lake, Marion, and Orange Counties.
I just wanted to pass on this compliment to the Villages High School students and staff. They had the One Blood drive at one of the Orlando stations on TV while I was giving platelets. The station with Martie Salt as they showed her often talking to various donors and One Blood employees. One Blood was at their news station. https://www.facebook.com/martiesaltwftv |
Glad to hear you donated again. I go back tomorrow.

The second platelet experience in 2015 anyway was much easier than the first and I got a $20 gift certificate to my choice of about a dozen companies offering these. I donated platelets four or five times back in 2011 but have been just donating whole blood or plasma/red blood cells on the buses since then. It looks like I might be able to do both for a while. I will have to see though as sometimes the volume given stops me for donating anything for a few months. That's when I mix it up with Blood Mobile visits and trips to the Villages Blood Donation Center. At least, I do not have to factor in Life South visits too. |
