Recommendations for GP & Podiatrist
 

We have become residents of FL now, & need to find a GP & podiatrist here. Looking for recommendations from fellow Villagers. Thanks!

Sorry can't help with GP ( I'm seeing my fourth one tomorrow) but Dr, Johnny Woo at Tri Co Podiatry is a very good podiatrist. Good luck with GP. Finding a good GP has been my biggest disappointment in TV! (I'm not a really picky person either! I just want to stay healthy!)

We both very much like The Villages Health Care Centers. Here is the website. You can hear each physician say a few words.

We see Dr. Swietarski. He is fairly new here and is looking to build his practice, so you can get in pretty quickly. We use him for our GP needs. He does a good job for us.

Podiatrist: Dr Felix Esarey or Dr Johnny Woo at Tri-County Podiatrist are considered by most, the best in the area. Been using Dr Esarey for about 14 years, would not consider changing.

Here's what I like about Villages Health:

If you need to be seen day you call, you will be. Maybe not with you own doc, but sometimes with an associate.

We've found little or no waiting. Appointments are generally on time.

Have been very pleased with our physicians, but if there is a personality conflict, easy to change physicians.

Web site has each physician say an introduction, which is quite helpful.

Staff is extremely nice and helpful.

Also if you are on Medicare you must be on UHC Villages insurance, which is not the best choice on insurance available.

Only if you are on an Advantage Plan do you have to use The Villages Plan. They take all Medicare Supplements. Read their insurance options if not yet on Medicare.

I did switch doctors at Colony Health Care and was more than pleased with Dr. Heidi Zimmerman.

We have both had UHC F Plan supplement for many years and never had a problem with that either. I think TV Health Care accepts ALL REGUAR Medicare supplement plans but ONLY UHC ADVANTAGE PLANs. You pay no premiums but some co-pays with advantage plans.

Thanks - we have Medicare through the NY Empire Plan that is administered by United Health, so the Villages Health is in our network - I think we will go with them.

My husband and I see Dr. David Kelley at The Villages Health Care Center at Pinellas, and we both like him.

All of the podiatrists at Tri-County are excellent but mine is Dr. Felix Eseray..EXCELLENT
