Deli Salads

I'm looking for a deli with good macaroni and potato salads. Not worth making it for 2 people. Please, PLEASE, don't recommend any supermarkets. None of their stuff is made on-site and we haven't cared for anything we've tried from either Publix or WinnDixie or Fresh Market. Thanks!

Have you tried Too Jay's? Personally I like the salads at Fresh Market; I do "doctor" them up a bit. I can get pretty close to what Mom used to make.

Lots-o-luck. This is not exactly the land of good eatin'.

You sound like my mother! She is picky with her coke slaw and potato salad! I'm keeping this thread so I will know where to take her on our next visit to TV!

Scooples has a good potato salad. Also try McAlisters in Brownwood.
Maybe Bob Evans or Perkins.

Oops, I just saw you were looking for a deli.

Try Publix New York Potato Salad. I am very picky about potato salad and like it a lot.

My family likes Stonemill potato salad which is sold at Sam's and Costco.

Tried it on the advice of one of the Deli workers. Sorry, not a fan.

Tried Sweet Tomatoes? You can fill a takeaway box to the brim for around six bucks.

I know you didn't ask for pasta salad but the bowtie pesto salad from Fresh Market is very good. I'm with you, though - haven't found a potato salad yet, but not giving up!

Yep, if you want good food you have to go to NY, NJ......Even Mexicans know that to get good mexican food you can't go to Mexico, but have to go to NY or NJ, or that area. Chinese can't wait to leave China to get to NY so they can eat real Chinese food, :a20:

Used to get a salad called Sallie Sherman (spelling) even down in So. Fl.
Winn Dixie used to carry it. Not sure if it is available up here.

If you find it try it - and let me know where you found it. LOL
