Back Button
Still cannot get back button to work on TOTV. Running Windows 10. Any suggestions? Thanks.
|
My back button also stopped working on TOTV when Windows 10 was installed. When I find a post I want to read I right click and open in a new window. When I am done I simply close that window and go right back to where I was on TOTV. A pain, but a way around the issue.

Windows 10
I tried Windows 10 and aside from other problems it would not accept my printer.I spent considerable time on the phone with HP and Microsoft trying to get the printer to work. They finally threw their hands in the air and said the only solution was to buy a new printer.I went back to Windows 7.

likewise here with Win 10 - it is an error in the tov coding - not quite up to snuff - work around for just this page is to go to menu in upper left side and click home - other pages on tov do not appear to have this problem.

Windows 10 Issue
Hello everyone! I hope your day is going well other than this back button not wanting to cooperate :rant-rave:.
I do however need to inform you that the issue is not with your Talk of the Villages forum - It's an issue with your Browser built into Windows 10. If using a third-party browser such as Chrome or Firefox produced the same results then it would be an issue with our coding as one member commented, that is actually a logical way of thinking when identifying forum issues however this is one of the rare exceptions to the rule. For those interested here are two articles that help explain it: Edge browser requires multiple back button presses to get back one - Microsoft Community From the above link/page roughly half-way down you'll find this link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...5-a3f7f500dec1 It does not matter that the bottom link/page was for a Windows 8 owner and system, the issue is the fact your browser is built-into the overall system more so than any other browser (and more so than any other previous version of Windows as well) for security reasons. If something does not function properly, it won't until an update is released and you update your system, that is if one becomes available in a timely fashion. You all must consider the fact that while Microsoft wants to make things easier for you with Windows 10 that they cannot make how you surf the internet any less secure respectively. Before going too far in-depth with this I will simply ask that, if you have other browsers such as Chrome/Firefox on your Windows 10 PC quickly test :024: using those alternate browsers - If the back button works in third-party browsers then we know for sure it's a conflict with your newly purchased or updated system when using Windows 10. I'm interested in your replies regarding third-party browsers and if their back buttons work or not. I'm here to help so if you have any questions or if you need clarification on something don't hesitate to ask! |
I have the back button problem as well and have learned to work around it. Now my touchpad on my ASUS stops and starts working on a random basis. When it stops the touchpad settting indicates it is working properly. Any ideas?

Gave up on 10
I also gave up on 10. Like my tov working and it did fine with windows 8.

I'm confused....I have a tower with wireless KB and mouse. My wife uses Edge and I use Chrome and use the buttons on the mouse to navigate back and forward without issues. Is the conversation around laptops? Aside from having to download new drivers from HP to get the printer going I have no issues with 10 and wonder why.

This is not an issue with TOTV but with windows 10.

I agree. Beat the rush, abandon Windows 10.:pepper2:

I use Windows 10 and have no problems with ToTV...or anything else for that matter.
