How? From what little I've read of her, I'm impressed. We'll see more when the dust settles.

While not a "good ole boy", she seems to have more experience then Senator Obama without a tenth of the controversy.....but it is a bit early to say anything.

Boy I am impressed with her so far:

A working Mom with 5 kids
A independent thinker and reformer
She fought Big Oil and won
Has Executive experience
has a record of supporting green energy programs
fought bureaucracy and big government spending

Sounds like a pleasant change

We wouldn't want anyone, especially a female, with common sense to be involved with politics now would we? Obama is always spouting "change", Sarah Palin is what we conservatives call change, and a fresh one at that.
McCain/Palin 2008 for a real change!!

Not worth a comment. I think McCain could have picked Goofy and the Republicans would have found a reason to think the choice was wonderful. Seeeeeee youuuuu, in November ....
That was me singing! :o

Nor is this one worth a comment, but what the heck --- Likely, had the "chose" been Goofy, I doubt there would have been that much acclaim, even though Goofy also has better credential, less questionable baggage, and is overall better qualified than Obama.

Hmmm- well, I guess the “experience” factor doesn’t mean anything after all. I imagine McCain will now remove all ads pointing to Obama’s “inexperience”. It looks like his new strategy is to find the person with the least amount of influence, make her his VP choice and tout her as an undiscovered savior. The idea is if you can’t beat the “inexperienced crowd” you might as well join them. Is McCain really in this thing to win or is he just a sacrificial lamb thrown out by the Republican party in a no win political year? If I remember correctly the Republican machine nominated Bob Dole (who? – oh, yeah) as their choice against an unbeatable Bill Clinton.

But Obama is running for president, not vice president. On the job training for president?? Come on, give us a break.

So what you’re saying is that the VP slot is just a figurehead who can be void of qualifications or experience? That’s quite a comforting thought knowing a rock can fill the position. I’d rather have an experienced hand a heartbeat away from the presidency but if I need training as a commercial fisherman I will know where to go.

There is no comparison between 'experience' in Pres. and Veep. The President will be running the country immediately. People vote for the President...not the Veep.

As far as experience.....Gov. of a State, Mayor of a city....has much more leadership experience than being a state senator or u.s. senator - of which you are one of 100.

Hmmmm apples and oranges....they are not the same

Gee, why is it not OK for anyone to say anything about Obamas wife...and yet we are already dissing Sarah and her husbands career. This is what I hate about politics...people get mean. Everyone has an opinoin....why can't we all just agree to disagree and not dis anyone. This goes for both parties...Rep. and Dem.

Just what does experience mean?

It is such a meaningless gage to try to apply to a politician.
