Piano

We will be moving into a Juniper in 22 days (yikes!) and I'm trying to decide if I should bring my regular size upright piano. I'm not a good player, but I enjoy trying. I'll have dining room, living room and kitchen nook furniture coming with me, as well as the bedrooms and office. Any idea if there will be enough room anywhere for the piano? Is there so much else I'll be doing that it will just sit there mocking me?

Re: Piano

There is a lot of space in the combined living room and dining room in the Lantana. Maybe against the wall in the dining area? I wish I could play, and I wish I could sing, but If you can, would you please invite me over to hear you? I am so in awe of musical talent in any form.

GG, in my heart I'm a musician, but in my fingers I'm a klutz. I can't play my Cajun accordion either, but I try, and I'm bringing it. Oh my poor neighbors!

We brought our upright piano with us because my wife plays it on a daily basis. We put it in the 3rd bedroom which we use for an office/den. Works out great for her. We are considering making our Lani into a Florida Room at which time we would move the piano to that room.

There are times when I wish I would have kept my piano instead of selling it. I miss the hours of just sitting there and playing.

I sold my piano but kept all of my music. I'm planning to buy one of the new keyboards but I know little about them. Will have to research the market.

We have a 1923 pumper player piano that I would love to bring to TV but my wife has vetoed it. Was there an additional cost to move the piano? Our player weighs a ton and would be almost impossible to move out of our current home.

Jo, hope you're my next door neighbor in Hadley, cause at least you'll drown out the dirty, rotten Schnauzers barking!! Don't worry, I won't complain, I like accordion music...

Re: Piano

We bought a Yamaha Clavenova on sale last year for the express purpose of learning to play it in our retirement in TV. It takes up very little space and has many "voices" as well as standard piano. I took lessons when I was very young but remember little. I plink around on it some some and can pick out tunes while the machine does the accompanyment. Lot's of fun and something to do between rounds of golf.
