other activities available?
 

We are interested in live theater - as spectators not as performers. Are there any little theaters or dinner theaters other than going to Orlando? We also like to attend the symphony. Does Ocala have a symphony? Are there group outings to attend these types of events? By that I mean, bus trips and/or discounted group rates.
Similarly, we would be interested in attending the dog tracks, sports events (both college and professional), horse races, casinos, etc. but are not keen on driving ourselves to late evening events.

The Ocala Civic Center in Ocala has plays as does the Melon Patch in Leesburg. There is also Mt Dora and Clermont but they are further away. The Savannah Center has plays plus plays by the Off Off Off Off Broadway club. There is also live entertainment in the form of impersonators, bands, singing trubites.

Not sure about a symphony in Ocala but the Savannah Center might fit your needs as well as the Church on the Square in SS.
