What makes you like TOTV?
 

I like it because I like to hear of newcomers arriving and discovering how wonderful The Villages is. I like it because of the interesting, intelligent, compassionate people who post on here and because my avatar looks better than I do.

The people. You can have company and you don't have to feed them or clean the house before or after they leave!!! I like reading the different viewpoints. I like hearing the latest news about what is happening in TV. I like finding out which contractors/service people/restaurants are the best. Most of all I like the friends I have made on this site. I treasure them.

I'm with Sammie on this one. I love the people! Even the ones that don't agree with me! Well, maybe I don't love them, but for the most part like and respect them.

We have made more wonderful lifelong friends through this site than I could ever have imagined.

I also love that it keeps me close to my dear snowbird friends when they're far away.

Thanks heavens (and our wonderful Admins) for TOTV. ;D The best thing for me about TOTV is that I can continue to feel that I'm part of The Villages even though I must live in Canada for six months a year. It is a wonderful way to keep in touch and find out what is happening with my friends, and those I hope will become my friends.

I continue to learn great tips from this site. There are emergency phones at the pools. Villages Seven gave me a great painter's name before I even met her. The chairs at the Belvedere Pool have been replaced.

Nonie's Pity Party looked like a lot of fun. Chels continues to be a vibrant personality and a political dynamo. Kathie is now back in TV. Donna has a new house. Bright is back home and teaching school again. HB & SL are travelling (no surprise there). Beads will be back in TV soon. Susan's house is now up for sale. The buffalo are gone, Whiskey Creek and Dominics have closed, but Bonefish Grill is now open. Hadley is now party central. Handie is planning a Halloween Cart Party. Ronda is still rockin, and .... oh, I could go on all day.

I've met so many wonderful people, just by being a member of this website. Like Sammy, who we all adore, I treasure the friends I've made on TOTV. :bigthumbsup:

I completely agree with all that has been said so I won't say it again.

I would like to add however that I think TOTV is probably the best sales tool that "The Villages" has, even if they don't acknowledge it as such.

Yes, the physical location of TV and all it has to offer is amazing and like no other. However, when you leave, after that exciting visit with a friend or lifestyle preview the impressions begin to fade...the koolaid starts to wear off.

Then if you are lucky you find TOTV. You read posts, get to know people and pretty soon you are posting. Then you begin to make friends on the forum...scary? Weird? Maybe, but I can't believe how cool these new friends are...in person they are even better.

Other retirement communities send information, we toss it. Long time MN friends & family ask us to stay. Old friends & family encourage us to move back to CA. We tell them all...we can't. We have to move to TV.

Trust me, for us, it's not the weather, it's not the houses, it is the friends that we have met and continue to hang out with on this board that will make the sale.

TOTV's is the greatest place....the people....no matter what they believe in or stand for...have become my friends and in my opinion extended family! I know many people have their social clubs, etc but this allows us all to join together!

As I have said before....the greatest group of people I have NEVER met....(except Sammhass of course). I can't wait til next Friday!!! Big Hugs for everyone...even Benj and Bucco if they come! I love you all!!!!
