Overwhelmed with scent.
There are a couple of home accessories stores in The Villages that knock you down with sweet smelling air when you walk in the door.
I have a friend whose perfume is past it's prime. Was at the dermatologist waiting room and a fella walked in drenched in aftershave and I had to step out for a minute. Is this nasty reaction of mine due to aging, or am I not being flexible enough? |
No, neither! Some people just do not realize that others are sensitive to heavy scents. I was recently in the hospital.....was so proud of myself - I spoke up when two different aides came into my room with heavy scents that almost knocked me out of bed! I spoke to the head nurse, she took care of problem immediately. Next a person from Patient Relations came to thank me for speaking up because they actually have a NO SCENTS POLICY for employees. So it was all good.
Also several classes that I go to constantly announced the no heavy scent policy and one class even asks people to leave who just can't get it. I have to take a deep breath before entering some stores and walk as fast as I can til I get past all those makeup counters. So, Gracie , maybe you and I are the only ones who are knocked out by the heavy scents, if so, we'll just have to adapt! |
I have a real sensitivity to overuse of perfume or cologne. I don't know how the person wearing it can stand it! We have a policy in our band - no perfume or cologne at rehearsals or performances for band members. Thank Goodness!

I work in a fragrance free department. It's like a breath of fresh air, and when the air handlers bring in the smell of the apple orchard we have to send someone out to buy cider and donuts

My husband and I went to a movie at Sumter Landing a couple of years ago. Got comfy and after a few minutes another couple arrived and sat down beside us. After about 5 minutes, we had to move because her cologne was so strong neither one of us could breathe. Used to have a client whose perfume would announce her presence before we even saw her. Wish folks would get the drift that soap and deodorant is enough; a tiny bit of cologne goes a long way.

Occasionally when I'm riding around TV in my cart, I'll follow or meet someone that smells like they poured/sprayed the whole bottle on themselves. Whew!!I've always had a sensitive nose for stuff like that.

You're just fine....

I once found a product for my wife that was so inviting I worried that I might have outfoxed myself . it was absolutely enticing... apply a little drop of that cream on and you got the WOW factor |

Two cents... dictated without spellcheck… I have the old factory sense of a short notice canine. I am more blessed than cursed, and appreciate my sniffer. Most of what I smell is yummy, such as "I smell cowman your "
PS, I blurted that out while trying to buy a car. The saleswoman smiled and pointed upwind. |
