If you don't thing the Freedom caucus is a problem, listen to this exchange between two Republicans.

In my view the Freedom Caucus is doing what voters elected them to do. This is a fight between the Establishment that have become a part of the problem and the Freedom caucus. John Boehner's. Mitch McConnell sell out Republican conservatives for personal and party gains. The country is leaking socialism and Establishment republicans are ineffective in fighting back against it. Jeb Bush is an Establishment candidate and that's who Establishment donors want in the White House . However many voters are sick and tired of the good old boy network that locks them out . This country needs a hard turn back to the right or we will become as ineffective as the European Model Obama admires
That's why Trump Cruz and Carson are leading the Republican polls. do I believe they are the best candidates heck no but their telling voters what they want to hear and if the Establishment were responsive they would be reworking their program

The further the Republicans turn to the right. The further the Democrats will turn to the left. That is a road to nowhere. The favorability of both houses of Congress is at rock bottom. What the Freedom Caucus is pushing is more combative inflexible positions on just about everything.

The Republicans will never gain a filibuster proof Senate. This just about guarantees that nothing will get done. How can that be good?

After listening to the Freedom Caucus representative, who in the right mind wants to become Speaker of the House? The Freedom Caucus blames the Senate, but the Senate does work with each other to get things down. The immigration is an example of this.

Trump says that he is a great negotiator, and will get things done. He will have just as much a problem with the Freedom Caucus as Boehner had with them. They want thing their own way, and that will never happen. People in their own party don't want anything to do with them.

Dear Guest: prior to the ordination of King Obama I might have agreed with you. However the Democratic Party is socialist, demanded God be stricken from our Articles of Freedom at its 2012 national convention. the fact is that the progressives have pulled so far left that they make traditional values look inflexible. The progressives always default to over reaching on everything. Ask yourself if progressive leadership is the right avenue to follow why are so many people beating a path from blue states to red states? why are blue run city /states broke having underfunded and unobtainable pension etc that re straggling them Higher taxes, etc

Again the Freedom Caucus is not a group of inflexible cave men/women but people who understand the importance of intestinal fortitude would you also describe our founders as being inflexible unwilling to bargain. Or did they by standing up give us an opportunity to govern ourselves, a right now being stripped away by socialist progressives.

You better hope the Freedom Caucus succeeds in turning the tide of this socialist movement because if they do not be prepared to have the government take over every aspect of your life.

finally doing something can do more harm than doing nothing at all. I mean look at all the regulation Obama enacted the stimulus, ACA, etc did that do us any good Because from my point of view I pleading with the Obama Administration to stop helping me because it is costing me a fortune . Progressives are causing this nation this implode

I would amend one of the comments about the dems moving further left when the opposition moves right to read.......

while the left continues to veer harder left and when the oppsoition moves right at all.....the dems start calling names, sending accusations, posing more government controls and employment all the while calling for more effort in the left direction.

Visualize a semi truck driver (dem) pulling steering wheel full left turn.
Now visualize a steering wheel on the passenger side, not connected to anything, with the driver (opposition) trying to turn right!!!

I am a moderate independent, and I am stuck on the fence. I am still of the opinion that the parties can work together. I listened to moderate Republican on Meet The Press, and he seemed to be reasonable. I am stuck between Kasich, and Biden, who I hopes runs. I think both of these candidates would be good for the US. As far as I am concerned, that is a win win situation.

Concerning the stimulus, the economy wasn't going to fix itself. There are mixed views on the stimulus. It wasn't all bad, and it wasn't all good. This writer seems to be objective about it. Obama

I am not a socialist, but I think that a single payer health insurance is the way to go. I dealt with insurance companies for 30 years, and they are nothing but common thieves. There is no competition between insurance companies. Their rates are almost the same. A traditional value is strong help the weak. The problem with the ACA is the people that helped writing it, the insurance companies, and politicians.

In the Daily Sun today, it was reported that the Freedom Caucus won't identify their members. If they have the best interests of the US in mind, what is the harm? In the interview, the moderate Republican estimated their members to be 19. The Freedom Caucus wanted people to believe that there are 153 members. They are not in the same ballpark. I think the general feeling is that there are 40 members. If there only 40 members, they are not a force only a pain in the butt.

The freedom caucus is largely comprised of politicians. And like on this forum, in anonymity, much more gets said.

Politicians have this self imposed handicap of trying to please everybody that might vote for them and offending none. As a result they are hampered from saying and doing what is right.

The reason the non politcal candidates are faring well is they do say what they want to who they want and let the chips fall where they may.

Politicians will ie, cheat, steal, coerce, et al to win a voting block.

All the above is why the freedom caucus wants to remain un-named.....in my humble opinion.

I hear what you are saying, but I am not sure that that applies to the devout Freedom Caucus members. I wouldn't bet on anything. My feeling is that the Freedom Caucus wants people to believe they are bigger, and stronger than they are. That is the impression that I got from the moderate Republican.

The moderate Republican gave the impression that 134 (153-19) Republicans don't vote the conscience, but vote to keep their seats. With Gerrymandering so prevalent across the country, they have to worry about people in their own party taking their seat. A lot of the times they voted to repeal ACA was done to let people know that are against ACA. It was almost like confirming the obvious, but 54 times is a little overboard to get your point across. The lying may apply more to the 134 Republicans than to the Freedom Caucus.
