Fabulous look at coyote history and current monitoring project. UF recommends monitors use fish oil to attract coyotes for observation.

If the cats are always kept indoors, it won't be a problem.

Note to folks thinking of moving to Florida: if you have an outside cat, don't move here.....or realize that it must stay indoors here.

Do I have to worry that a coyote is going to snatch my tuna fish sandwich?
I will fight him for it!

Don't worry about it. They are carnivorous and omnivorous but not tunafishivorous.

Who has Had a cat that NEVER got out?
Who can monitor all doors no matter how many guests there are?
Not me.

We have screened the garage, enclosed the lanai with glass and screened the front entry and as long as our sneaky little devil doesn't find another way out, he is safe. He loves the pet stroller too but now it is a sleeping bed.

I had a Himalayan kitty who never went outside, never. That's probably why she lived to be 20.
If guests were expected, I'd simply put her in a bedroom and close the door. No door monitoring required.

Excellent, its not brain surgery.

Being a rocket scientist myself, I never had any reason to study cat behavior. But if you have a cat, keep it inside. It's not rocket science.

I hope I am not treading where I shouldn't because I truly respect you, Kitty Gilchrist. You are a kind soul with a razor sharp mind and you are quick on the draw.

I just don't understand what the underlying issue is here with the coyotes.

They seem to be far more numerous than they were and I think that being reminded of the fact that we must be attentive to our pets if VERY important.

There were a couple of places that folks posted that made me skeptical, one being a picture of a lanai with a hole in the screen unlike any I have seen here in The Villages. Some of our stuff is so identical.

I also said early on that the developer can't do everything and solve every problem, that is just unrealistic.

But I truly don't know why that there are so many threads on coyotes. I am not being coy or playing any games. I just don't get it.

The bear hunt is on tomorrow. Think it is kind of a stupid idea. Tranquilize them and move them to other areas of Florida. They have seven days from early Saturday morning to hunt around 320 black bears. Florida approves hunt for 320 black bears, first in more than 20 years | jacksonville.com
