Look at those prices!

Remember this well! On Saturdays we would ride our bikes from Edgewood (Pittsburgh) over to Wilkinsburg to browse in all the small stores and then have lunch at Woolworth's (if we were frugal and had enough allowance left over).

Woolworth's is still open in Australia. Mostly it's a large grocery store on the order of Meijer's or Walmart. The last time we were there, they were having a special on Coca-Cola. Half off a case of it--$35 Aus, ($1.05 to $1 US at the time)--roughly $37.

Went to Catholic elementary school in Cleveland Ohio. The biggest treat on Friday was to go to Woolworth's on Buckeye Rd to have a grilled cheese for lunch (no meat back then on Friday for Catholics}
