Duval Village question

Okay, a question to the residents of Duval. I am considering a purchase in Duval. what do you folks think of your village. Please be honest, if you regret your site selection please say so. It seems a little far from shopping, lake sumter, the action etc. but let me hear from those that live in Duval. I am sure there are pluses and minuses there alway are so shout out Duvalers be heard!
Thaks guys/gals.

Hate to leave Duval

We own an Austin in Duval and a Lantana with a view in Hemingway. We like living in Duval better. Good people, good location, and Duval has no through traffic, but no one in our area would sell and we needed a larger house. So for now, we are bi-residential and if you count Illinois, tri-residential. When the two year limit on a sale by an out of state owner is up in March, we will probably sell the Duval property unless we decide to keep it as a rental. You will love Duval.

As a Duvalite I find that location is not a problem. If you are a golfer there are 81 holes of golf that are 5 minute cart rides away. There is a nice small shopping area in Colony Plaza that is less than 10 minutes away by golf cart. Two great rec centers, Truman and Colony Cottage are close. There are 5 pools close one being a family pool and one a sports pool. Lake Sumter Landing is a 10 minute cart ride away. There are many social clubs in Duval from neighborhood ones to a Village one. When the Villages builds out in a few years Duval will be centrally located between 2 town centers and probably 36 more holes of golf will be 5 minutes away. It is still only 7 miles to Spanish Springs, about 25 minutes by golf cart. Then after you have had all the excitement you can return to a quiet friendly neighborhood.

Well summarized and totally accurate. We ride our bikes to Sumter Landing via canal in 15-20 minutes. The only thing you can't do in Duval is..a)buy a premier home or b)buy a designer on a championship course.
