On the lighter side....Chris Rock on the candidates

I like Chris Rock's take on the election. He said something like this recently:

"Obama is more grounded with your average American -- not somebody like McCain with "12 houses."

"The other guy [McCain] can lose five houses," Rock said.

"I'll go with the guy with one house. The guy with one house is scared about losing his house."

Someone should email this link to Chris Rock, he will see the laugh is on him. (And I think Chris Rock does some good comedy).

If you can't tell, Bucco, I am really ticked about having to pay for all the homes that were sold to people whom didn't buy their homes the way we bought ours. We saved, we scrounged, we went without and for that, we get to shell out for the bailout. Yess, I am very, very irritated. :rant-rave:

Peachie...at this point I have nothing personal against any of these folks but just fear that we are beginning socialism in this country and throwing our successful capitalistic society aside. NO socialist society has ever succeeded and we seem to be hell bent to go there !

I am also against this bail out under all circumstances.

Socialism at this point, is probably the least of your problems, Bucco. There is a real mess out there and our posturing congressional leaders, IMHO, do not have a clue and the candy just keeps falling our of their pockets. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26915459
The saying used to be, "drill baby, drill. Now it should be, "print money, print".

You are correct but imagine the next two years with Sen Obama, THE SINGLE MOST LIBERAL OF ALL OF THEM, at the helm !!!!!

Guest 09-28-2008 10:12 AM

Well, Bucco, we've had GW for 8 years and look where we're at. Throw them all out!! And, may I add, people need to live within their means and dump the debt in their lives.

First you CANNOT THROW THEM ALL OUT. Second, GW is not running for anything. Thirdly, I do not support Sen Mcain....I wish we had other choices but we dont and to make a change this radical JUST BECAUSE OF CHANGE is a mistake in my opinion. The rush to change without thinking of the consequences can be a disaster !

I might add...look at Sen Obama's promises, track record and then compare it to the congress folks you are watching on videos and on tv.....they are not going to do what you suggest......make folks live within their means...just the opposite...they want to insure the "american dream" for everyone and NOW !

Bucco, are you writing in your presidential candidate? IMHO, you are a closet McCain supporter but I don't think you need to apologize or deny that. We all make our choices based on our perceptions, intuitions, information gleaned and how the new candidate will affect our personal situations. Whomever, you choose is your decision and your decision alone. I'm seeing no remedies to this mess out there. I think the "spend freely as you go" population will be the winners.

Peachie.....I have never, that I can think of, written anything here or anywhere IN SUPPORT of Sen McCain. I HAVE WRITTEN that Sen Obama is by far the most radical left winger EVER EVEN nominated for such a high office.

Had the Democratic nominee been Sen Clinton I believe I could have supported her, but you will just have to trust me...I think both nominees are bad and that I am speaking against a candidate who is radical and has the entire congress at his beckoned call !

Guest 09-28-2008 10:40 AM

Then you have a write in candidate in your mind, Bucco? (Just curious and you don't have to tell....)

Sigh.... I'll just tell you how it appears to me. There are two candidates for president of which one will be president-elect shortly. Your posts from beginning to end do NOT support Mr. Obama. That would leave the other candidate, John McCain, to receive your vote unless you are not voting this year or have a write-in candidate. If John McCain does get your vote, that makes you pro-McCain. It's ok, everyone needs to vote for their choice.

I will never ever apologize for supporting any candidate !!!!

I will vote FOR McCain because a write in will not prevent Sen Obama from taking the presidency and that is what I am against. I know that it is a rather negative way to go at it, but these are the candidates we were given and we do not have a viable 3rd party candidate !

Guest 09-28-2008 11:38 AM

Congrats, Bucco. :clap2: I applaud you on admitting you have chosen a candidate but remember that as strongly as you feel about John McCain, Barrack Obama's followers have the same committment. It will be good when the race is over and banners are laid down. But then the even more important races will begin, senators and representatives. That's where some real "CHANGE" is needed.

Bucco, I don't know if you noticed, but our capitalist society isn't very successful right now. It must be fixed to work. Way too many greedy people in this country.

Peachie, I agree that one must choose based on their knowledge and instincts. My instinct tells me LOUD AND CLEAR that if McCain wins we are headed for unprecedented disaster. I had the same instinct about George Bush 8 years ago, and the same instinct about Iraq. I trust my instincts. My vote is clearly for Obama.

Quite frankly, we cannot afford more of the same on any level. I do not want a man that makes impulsive decisions coupled with an angry, war mongering temperament to stand as head of this country. That's McCain.

I want a person of high intellect, diplomacy and character to be in charge of this country. A person that can help America get back on it's feet and stand tall. That's Senator Obama. To me the choice is clear cut.

We desperately need to regain our leadership in the world. Right now, we are a joke. I just came back from a trip, watching only international news. To the rest of the world, there is no other candidate than Obama. People around the world are literally praying that the American people are bright enough to realize this. I am too.
