I am a very, very, big fan of law enforcement officers but I am now willing to admit the job attracts some folks who are bullies and have waaaaay too many anger issues.

I hope all of this nastiness toward police officers will not keep the good and brave and strong and morally right people from choosing this job to protect us.

I also think that every child in this country no matter his/her color or hue should be taught to respect authority within reason and to do what is directed if you should ever be arrested.

I also think that something serious has gone wrong with folks learning the ten commandments or the secular version thereof. We cannot live in large groups without rules and having them enforced.

More checks and balances at the local level are really needed. There are bullies in every walk of life even law and public librarians, school administrators, etc.

One of the men I worked for in food services in Reno, Nevada in 1977-1983 wanted to be a cop at one time but had instead held various contracts for food service at a softball diamond in Idlewild Park, a historical mansion in Washoe Valley called Bower's Mansion, and a ski training program at Sky Tavern between Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada. We had many talks about crime and punishment and the like especially about the 2-24-1976 murder of Michelle Mitchell and its investigation. In 1989 I had tried to track him down when I was at the American Association of Law Libraries convention in Reno, Nevada where Gail Daly was introducing me as the WESTLAW cataloger for a national project. Mrs. Daly was at the University of Minnesota Law Library. Anyway, the partner of the guy in food services whom I had called while in Reno, Nevada had told me to not look back and move on. I did find the man who had been interested in police work when I was trying to flush out my work history. I Googled him and eventually turned up that this man was running one of the prisons of Nevada as a Warden. A lot of cases came up when you Googled him as prisoners looking to get out would sue the
Warden of the Prison they were at as well as others.

Here's a man who seemed rather intellectual when I knew him and he is running a rather tough prison in the State of Nevada and I seriously doubt that a Warden can show much weakness towards anyone.

Thank you Taltarzac725 and gracie girl; my wife and I survived careers as LEO's and I ask God everyday to watch over our son, who is a member of the KCPD SWAT Team.

I can honestly say that we were both fair in our treatment of people throughout our careers; unfortunately, we were both involved in shootings on the same day, two years apart, against people that made the decision to try and end our lives.

Are there LEO's that live outside the law? Absolutely. Are there LEO's that are bullies? Absolutely. Should LEO's be held to a higher standard? Absolutely. It is extremely hard to be a LEO today because there are - children are growing up with parents who won't/can't teach them between right and wrong, people with absolutely no respect of the law (black lives matter), thugs living in a culture where they don't want to work and would rather steal from people (including us Villagers), people that brutally assassinate Police Officers for no reason other than their hatred towards them - I could go on and on.

Again, thanks to all of you that support the men and women in blue; blue lives matter.
