Looking for a cooking class for hubby, in or near TV.
My husband would like to find one, and I am thinking it would make a great Christmas present .He likes to experiment cook, but is always unsure what to add to things, or what to make. He wants to do it in person, not online, etc. I would appreciate any ideas. Thank you.

The Food Network, any recipe online and in any cookbook uses herbs and spices. Do you mean things like Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, garlic powder, Cinnamon, ginger, Soy Sauce, vanilla, almond? I think I don't understand your question. |
Foodnetwork dot com has a great monthly magazine filled with easy to follow recipes. If he enjoys cooking, a subscription would be nice.

Fine Cooking magazine has greatly improved my skills. They have articles on cooking theory as well as recipes.
I also subscribe to Allrecipes, online as well as magazine. You can use it without a subscription, but joining gives you many cool features ~ like building a menu and creating a shopping list from that menu. |
You might see if you can find a spice chart. I have one that's about twenty years old. It lists the herbs and spices and gives recommendations for when to use them. Great for a cook like me who rarely follows a recipe.

This is a nice spice chart. It tells what spices to use with what food and what kind of a dish.

I think I wrote the question wrong. Hubby wants to take a cooking class. He wants to do it in person. He is the type of cook that experiments, and needs some help and wanted to take cooking lessons. He basically makes soups, stews, and wants to expand so he can learn more.
Thanks for the feedback and spice chart. |

My wife buys spices and seasonings from Penseys Spices. They have a store in Winter Park, and several other places around the country. They also have a vigorous online business. She buys online, and therefore gets the Penseys Spice Catalogs in the mail every couple of months. They contain many recipes and cooking hints as well as instructions on using different spices in whatever you're cooking.
