Appaloosa is a great movie for the Villages

This movie should do really well here in TV as it is like so many of the other classic westerns of the past 50 years or so. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10008785-appaloosa/

Look for Ed Harris' dad playing a judge. It is playing at the Rialto Theatre at Spanish Springs Town Square.

I might have even seen a reference to 2 2 4 in Appaloosa but am not sure. Did see one in Miracle at St Anna early on in that film.

I hate to be dumb, but what does 2 2 4 mean?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Not sure what these numbers actually mean to the people that have put them in movies, TV shows, books, ads, etc.

I have used 2 2 4 and 6 1 3 in many of the years of my 17.75 year quest to improve the hand of survivors of crime in the legal game but I have not had all that much success in making those materials actually accessible.

For instance, you would think that the New York Public Library would have more for survivors of crimes than just this which IMHO is of no help at all unless you go into the NYPL and ask the librarian what materials in the legal field could be of help for someone in that situation. http://www.nypl.org/research/sibl/law/

Good message.

If you like Appaloosa, check out Robert B Parker's very good sequel called Resolution. See where our new heroes Everett and Virgil go next!

I have heard that a movie sequel of Appaloosa is in talks.

I will have to check out this book though. :)

T,

Do the audio book. The excellent reader, (whose name I forget), has a melodious deep voice with just a hint of western drawl. Makes you feel like you're right there in the saloon with the boys and whores!

Titus Welliver reads Resolution

Thanks for the suggestion ijusluvit. :clap2: The reader is Titus Welliver which I found out by putting a hold request on the Audio Book CD at the Lake County Library System.

This was a really fun audiobook. It sounds from the ending of Resolution that another book on these characters' travels would be in the works. As Everett and Virgil are off to Texas to search at the end of the book Resolution for Allie.

Appaloosa

This movie has got to be the most boring movie of the year. Everything that happened, which was not much, could have been done in 44 min. at the most but it just dragged on and on. What a waste of time and money. To many good movies out to see such a looooooser. BJ

Appaloosa comes out on DVD 1-13-09.

We only have two weeks or so to wait until the DVD of Appaloosa comes out. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800308/

If you like movies like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and the Rush Hour you may not find Appaloosa all that fun. There is a lot of character study in this movie though that you would often find in the old Western movies like Shane, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the Ox-Bow Incident and High Noon even if Appaloosa is not quite in these classic Western's league.
