Clint Black at The Sharon
We just got back from the Clint Black concert, and the sound was a 1000% better, I was one that complained about Charlie Daniels band being so bad, well this concert was great. We really enjoyed the concert, a big thank you to all involved in the sound system.
The ushers were actually trying to stop people from taking pictures, good for them. Some people stopped, some did not. Now we need to stop the people from leaving to get drinks. I could not believe the group in the very front seats, between 8 and 10 people got up during the concert, and all came back DURING THE CONCERT, with multiple drinks. Very rude to both the entertainer and to the other members of the audience. |
This is why I stopped going to the pro sports games in Minneapolis. People today whether its a movie theater, performing art theater will just not sit still.
Its annoying and its a distraction. Having said that my wife so wanted me to go with her to see Johnny Mathias that ...well CHANCES ARE I'll see many of you there because it was a sell out |

It occurred to me last night, lets ask the concession stand to CLOSE once the concert starts, this is a very simple solution. However, since this will impact profits........
If I recall when The Sharon opened, there was a strict NO RE-ENTRY policy if you left during the performance, I also recall lots of complaints. If done discretely with as little disturbance to those around you, then I can see the occasional bathroom break. As I stated before, this was a very good concert, with the above exceptions. |
Thanks for posting you review of the Clint Black concert at "The Sharon" last night (12/1/15). We're big time fans of Clint, saw him once before probably about 10 years ago in Portland, Maine. Sorry to say, we didn't have the same takeaway as you; it was a good concert but not as good as we were expecting based on the fantastic show we saw in Portland. To us, the vocals seemed muted, the words unclear and overall volume just a little too low. This really was evidenced when we took a brief restroom break and found the concert sound to be much better (louder & clearer) in the hallways outside the main auditorium. The couple we went to the show with knew nothing of Clint Black or his music and also said they had great difficulty understanding the lyrics of the songs. This was our 1st visit to the Sharon and from your post, it sounds like they had acoustic problems previously and have improved on them. Yikes! We'll be waiting on more good feedback on the "sounds" at the Sharon before going back for a concert.
