Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25%, highest in country .

Chicago school system, one of the worst in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .

And he's going to 'fix' Washington politics?

If someone wants to credit Barack Obama for being part of the government of one of the great big cities in the world...have at it. What a compliment! If he can get Washington to work as well, we'l all be better off as the result.

I was born in Chicago, lived and worked there for forty years. I know the city--it's beauty and its warts as well--like the back of my hand. There's a reason why Chicago is referred to as "the city that works".
