It's a gas

I DETEST electric stoves. I live in a CYV and have a HUGE yard. I am wondering if anyone knows if we can go to gas...propane in those cylinders... or if each community has a general gas hookup available. I don't know where to look for this info and TOTV has never failed me.
Happy Christmas!

I would start by looking at the deed restrictions for your district. I don't know, but would suspect propane tanks are prohibited. Good luck.

You can bury a propane cylinder. No restrictions on whats under ground.

Look at a Induction stove or cook top! Love mine...almost exactly the same as using gas. Total control over the temperature of the burners. You do need compatible cookware...but I LOVE cooking with Induction!

Yes! I'm stuck with electric for now, but induction is in the future. Induction heats only the pan. No ambient heat loss like electric.

One of the ranges I'm considering has LED lights on the burners to mimic the look of flames.

My electric takes forever to heat a pan to sear.

Also, check on the cost of the propane, there was another thread on this. A search on the word propane should get you there.

Sure, we prefer to eat at home. My wife and I are both good cooks so we cook a lot. Cooking on an electric stove is definitely a challenge for people who have cooked with gas all their lives. We still have our northern home so when there our meals are much easier to prepare.

Yes some do:oops:
I find its hard to control your weight eating out all the time. Costs 4 times as much, and changes of catching cold or flu increase fourfold.
We're not big fan of electric stove either. luckily our house had gas heat And plumbed for gas stove. That's the first thing we got rid of, the electric stove which was like NEW!!! Within in year all of house appliances have been replaced form originals. Our CYV 13 years old which was time for replacement due to inefficiency and worn out.

Word to the wise? If you ever have to replace your refrigerator measure the space several times in criss cross up and down pattern to make sure the new product will fit in the space?

We prefer home meals but once and awhile go out to show our neighbors that we are social which fits with our long term retirement planning

We had electric every place we moved unti we moved here . We replaced all of our kitchen appliances with quiet operating units that are both stylish and very functional .
