Go to Youtube and type in sense wifi thermostat...they have videos that show you how to wire/install the unit. I already did it and the information is there in video form.

I have recently installed the Emerson sensi WiFi thermostat. The app walks you through the installation. Ac and heat work great. I am up north and check the house temperature and humidity often. The sensi is the best lower priced wifi unit in my opinion.

can you set the humidity on wi-fi

I can not. I do not have a separate humidistat. The sensi tells me the humidity level, I can only directly control the temperature.

I have never seen an AC/Heat pump thermostat with only 2 wires. I cannot imagine how this would work, unless it is already WIRELESS to the Heat Pump unit. IMHO, I think you need to do some additional investigation. Most Heat Pumps have 8 to 10 wires connecting the thermostat to the main unit controls, and you will probably need to get the manufacturers wiring diagram to the thermostat that you intend to use. This maybe a little more complicated then a DIY project.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.

2 wire thermostats are proprietary digital, the two wire communicates ( not wireless ) to a relay pack which does the standard switching (R,Y,G,O,W1,W2)

Nest has a web site to walk you through compatibility requirements. It helps to have a picture of your current thermostat wiring. Mine comes up as NOT compatible, so not sure exactly what the problem is.

I called Munns to discuss the installation. They said they didn't sell Nest but their guys knew how to install them. This house was built January 2014. Not sure if your system is that new or an older one but Munns did some wire changes and it has worked perfectly. The installation of the Nest was in December of 2014. If you are having compatibility problems you might want to check with the Company that installed your system......they might have an answer. It is a great Thermostat.

We were going to put in a nest and then decided against it. When Sunkool was out he reminded us that we shut off our Internet when we are not here. Therefore an Internet-based thermostat would do us no good. I also didn't like the article about nest in consumer reports. Kind of insinuated that big brother was watching you when you're using nest.

would i have to run wires to run wi fi thermostat and connect to what is in closet with those other wires and do away with the block.that ran on 2 wire to stat.

RickyD, thank you for the info, as I am out of my element here, I am going to bow out of the discussion.

They monitor your usage, they give you monthly reports on usage compared to previous and other users so if that is big brother, I love it. If you shut off your internet then wi-fi won't do you any good. We also have our alarm system and cameras monitored through wi-fi so ours stays on.
