Winter Lawn Watering?

Trying to find out what people do for watering of their lawn during the winter months when the grass is dormant.

How many days and how long?

Thanks

There's lots of good information on irrigation schedules at this site: Water Wisdom |

We water 2 days per week in the winter, 3 in the summer, but for shorter periods of time when we are on the 3x per week cycle.
Always remember, your seasonal adjustment should, if working properly, adjust your times automatically. For example, if you normally run a zone for 30 minutes and it is a cooler day, cloud covered, etc ... your seasonal adjustment may read 40% and will only allow the irrigation to run for 40% of the 30 minutes or 12 minutes. ALWAYS be sure when you are adjusting your times to adjust the seasonal adjustment up to 100% to get an accurate reading and then adjust your times from there. Your sensor will readjust the % within a short period of time.

The Water District that oversees The Villages is obsessed on how much water you use and so if you go over their pre-determined (or as I call it one size fits all limit) they will mail you a notice.

They would suggest that you water your lawn twice a week in the summer and that the zones containing shrubs be timed less because they need less water. In the winter months irrigating should be conducted only once a week.

But we haven't seen anything yet wait until they install smart meters and write and suggest you should wash your clothes in half loads settings
