Returned driver
Last Friday a Gentleman( I use the term loosely) had his driver slip out his hand during a tee shot on Riley Grove # 2 Green tee.The club went into the restricted area , he ask the Ambassador if there was someone that could go in ant retrieve it .The Ambassador said that he would check with management,He then seen a worker from Down to earth that takes care of the course . The gentleman went back and waded in to retrieve the club. He returned the club to the player on the 9th hole, got a thank you and nothing else. The club was a fairly new Taylormade driver ,I think a small tip would be the right thing to do.

absolutely the guy should have rewarded the real gentleman who retrieved his club.

gratitude is an attitude ...

For the same reason that the club slipped out of the players hand, practice swings should NEVER be made in the direction of other players or people standing in front or behind you. I have seen club heads go flying while the next up is taking practice swings. Use common sense and prevent a potential golf injury.

Oh, but I'm playing Palmer which makes me special !!!!!

Its not that he wasn`t a gentlemen he is just cheap.A new talyermade driver probably goes for at least $300 maybe $400.If it had happened to me I would have at least given the guy $25.

I can't believe that someone thinks everyone who does something nice should be given money. That definitely ruins the idea of just being a nice person helping someone. If I was thanked, that would be enough for me. I like helping people and don't need $25.00 to do it.

This wasn't a golfer helping another golfer. This was an employee forced to go into a restricted area and fish the golfer's club. Not only did the worker get wet, but he basically risked his life for this golfer. We do have gators and water moccasins in the ponds. Yes, I believe a tip was warranted. Had I been a member of the foursome, I would have offered the guy a tip myself.
